Throughout his life, Cheung Lai Chun had many students and few disciples. During Master Cheung’s remaining years in Hong Kong, Kwong Man Fong had the remarkable fortune of learning directly from the great master himself. As Cheung Lai Chun’s last and youngest disciple, Kwong Man Fong learned the system of Pak Mei Kung Fu in its entirety prior to Cheung Lai Chun’s passing in 1964.
In 1974, Master Kwong Man Fong publicly opened his first mouh gwun (Kung Fu training hall) in New York City’s Chinatown. Over the decades he has instructed many practitioners, and has produced numerous victorious competitors – including national and international champions. Master Fong continues to be a staunch traditionalist, adhering to the standard established by the Pak Mei creed.
